We’re only going to use this for 1 month out of the year so I wanted this to stay on 24/7 without hearing dumb music out of a bad speaker so I removed the bottom (see below) and disconnected the speaker JST connector from the board. Now I can put it to the music mode (which doesn’t have a timer) and run it full time. Why they didn’t offer this option in the first place is one of those “wtf’s”.It’s a nice little decoration for the top of a kegerator draft tower (four taps so it’s a little wide, this base fits almost perfect). It does weigh a bit so I didn’t need to add anything to mount it but just need to remember to take it down if I move the pub/draft/beer/savior box.To remove the bottom battery compartment, I used an eye glass flat head screwdriver to pry it open a little and a second mini screwdriver as a wedge while I slowly worked at the tabs which are a little hard to see until you’ve got some gap; there are two tabs that, with a little force, will release from the base and give you access. It took some patience and work (I started to think it was glued in but nope, just those tabs and a tight fit). Follow the speaker wire to the JST connector and pry off with needle nose pliers… there was some hot glue on it so a little effort was needed w/that. Snap battery compartment back in and you’re golden.
