I bought this mount to specifically handle my new 42″ monitor. It weights 32 lbs. It’s right on the hairy edge of what the AMER mount can handle, but it works. My advice to anyone trying to use this mount for something pushing its weight capacity, tighten ALL the bolts and screws. I mean ALL of them. The weight spring at the middle mount joint. The set screw in the middle of the swivel mount that attaches directly to the monitor. But do take care not to over tighten. There is an Allen wrench for every joint, so be careful not to misplace them. Lots of little pieces. The height adjustment I went with because of the weight was to use the main mount vertical bar. There are two things that slide on the bar, the plastic collar and the main arm. The plastic collar is useful for adjusting to the right height. I started high and moved down until I got to where I needed to be. Move the plastic collar lower and secure it. Then move the main mount down to rest on the plastic collar and secure the main mount. Check the height and repeat until you get their. I imagine things will work easier for a lighter monitor. But back to the main reason I got this AMER Monitor Mount, it is the ONLY mount that I could find that was rated for 30 pounds.
